Not to yield to the rain

Not to yield to the wind

Not to yield to the snow, nor to the summer heat

To have a strong body

Without desires

Never to be angry

Always to be calmly laughing

To eat four go of brown rice a day

With miso soup and a little vegetables

To everything

Without involving oneself emotionally

To carefully listen and understand

And never to forget

野原ノ松ノ林ノノ

In a small thatched hut in the fields and pine forests,

If there is a sick child to the east,

To go and take care of him,

If there is a tired mother to the west,

To go and carry her rice sheaves,

If there is a person dying to the south,

To go and say, "Don't worry,"

If there is a quarrel or lawsuit to the north,

To say, "It's foolish, so stop it."

To shed tears in times of drought,

To shiver and walk in the cold of summer,

To be called a fool by everyone,

Neither praised nor scorned

Such a person

I want to be.
