Jump Review [2025: Issue 33]Yyabsing7/16/2025 Yesterday, I spent the day like an otaku, playing card games in Nihonbashi and then eating Jiro-style ramen before going home. Until recently, I was cramming my schedule with things like museums and aquariums, like a normal person, so it was a good holiday to remind myself of my place. I've been playing Weiss Schwarz on and off since I built a Shana deck this year, but I still haven't gotten any better. That game is fun but difficult. I'm going to write my impressions of Jump. Table of Contents: Ao no Hako, One Piece, Witch Watch, Ping Pong, Nue's, Akane-banashi, Kagura Bachi, Me & Roboco, Hima no QOL wo Ageru!, Tenshi to Shinobi, OTERU - Realm of the Goddess, Nige Waka, Postscript Ao no Hako The love rival arc is complete! Ayame just needs to score from here. Kyō is starting to become a little popular, and she's ready to be aware of it. But do those types of gloomy nerds actually get popular? Is it the sense of cleanliness? I'd like to pretend I didn't see the amulet stuff. One Piece Rocks' big panel is so cool. It's been pointed out many times that Blackbeard and Rocks have similarities, but they even look alike. It was written casually, but is it blood relation after all? Their facial features aren't very handsome, but they have a coolness that makes you feel their ambition. Kaido and Loki alike, throwing themselves off things is trending. Witch Watch Kanshi is usually funny when he's suffering, so I was happy to see Kanshi naked, but this time it was pretty normal. It's become a bit too much like the Sex Pistols, and there wasn't really an explanation, so it's completely aimed at middle-aged men. It was an episode where thin Momochi and loli Nico were cute. Ping Pong The unorthodox ping pong itself is quite fun, but the drama is too thin, so I can't really get into it. If I were to compare it to the recently hitting Kagura Bachi and Ichigoki's Under Control!!, Kagura Bachi shows the drama and cool action that allows you to empathize with the protagonist in the first episode, and Ichigoki's Under Control!! has an interesting world and makes you expect something from the protagonist. I feel like those two have hooks that can be explained, but right now, the only element of enjoyment seems to be the unorthodox ping pong. The motivation of 'for my sister' is easy to understand, but it needs a little more length to make it a drama you can empathize with. Nue's As a reader who wants fun from good Nue, I like that Nue is acting seriously while still being playful, and the assertive wedding venue that ignores the etiquette of not standing out more than the bride and groom by setting up a Suzaku statue is also interesting. Enemies who do useless things far removed from evil are endearing. Two new girl characters (Ishyu and Yozora) have appeared in this series, and both of them have great personalities, and it's subtly amazing that both of them are at the center of the operation. So far, I haven't felt like someone who just popped up is being pushy. Akane-banashi It wasn't touched on much this time, but it was hot when her past experience with anime was mentioned at the moment the fun of being on the other side of the monitor was mentioned. Her main battlefield as a voice actress is actually the world on the other side of the monitor, so there's no way she's neglecting that. This time, it was tension and relaxation, and Hikaru's personality was the main focus, so I wonder if the story on the other side of the monitor will be touched on later. Kagura Bachi Just when I thought the Zamura story was settled, the Sword Saint moving is too hype. It doesn't give the reader a chance to rest, which is helpful. Just the picture of him getting up conveys his eeriness, and I think his expression is really high level. The double-page spread that seems to be from the time of the Sai-Tei War was also good. I'm looking forward to the past arc. Me & Roboco Domain Expansion, I should have seen it coming, but I laughed so hard. I was also happy to see the roar of destruction. I really like the part around 'She has such a bold face.' Hima no QOL wo Ageru! I thought Himeno would come out eventually, but she came out about 10 times faster than I imagined, lol. Of course, I understand that she shouldn't overlap with Pono's character, but her impression is quite different from when only her name was mentioned. It looks like Himeno is transferring schools... I'm not sure if what's needed to rebuild things right now is a new character or not. Tenshi to Shinobi Wasn't there a similar composition to Kiyoshi? Well, it's common, but it's too recent, so the sense of déjà vu wins (Kiyoshi's was better on the double-page spread, but I couldn't find where it was, so I stopped looking). The flow of activating the ninja technique and the final panel were honestly cool. OTERU - Realm of the Goddess Is it dying already? Is high fantasy no longer popular? Well, the art has been powerful since the first episode, but the screen is a little dark and it's hard to understand what's going on, so I wonder if that's the reason. Now that I think about it, it hasn't gotten a color page in 10 chapters. I thought a boy who can use a sword of fire would unconditionally appeal to Jump, which is in a state of oversupply of orthodox battles, but today's kids are difficult. Nige Waka The name change flow was funny, but I think it's cool to interpret it as an effort of Yoritsugu. Here, Naoyoshi in the true sense becomes an ally. Do something about the heroines who are hinting at doing something naughty with the protagonist at every opportunity. Postscript It's been raining all week. I'm glad the temperature is calming down, but I was thinking of going to the Expo again, so I'm quite troubled. By the way, did you know that time capsules originated at the Expo? It started with burying a time capsule to be opened in 5000 years at the New York Expo, and they also buried one at the Osaka Expo 55 years ago. It seems they won't bury one at this Expo, but there's a time capsule-like event instead. ...Pickled plums. They're going to pickle plums and eat them in 25 years. The scale down is amazing. So, that's about it for this week, see you next week~ I don't have much to write about this week, so that's about it for this week, see you next week~2580ENCommentslogin and startStartpost
