Jump Impressions [2025: No. 48]Yyabsing10/27/2025 I had a proper drinking party for the first time in a while. I got super drunk and kept calling the cake shop "Chocolat Republic" "Shoppabu" and laughing my head off. It was fun. Now I'll write my impressions of Jump. Table of Contents: Gonron Egg, One Piece, Ichi, Sam Wan, Ao no Hako, Module, Magical Training, I'm off!, Himeten, Akane, Nue, Nige Waka, Ping Pong, Ekiden Bros, Postscript Gonron Egg This is by the person who drew the one-shot 'I am the Dragon God' a while ago. If I remember correctly, it was a one-shot with a pretty fetishy heroine, so there's a possibility that a super cute girl will be born from the egg. As for my impressions of the first episode, the atmosphere is quite unique and I'm looking forward to it, but the highlights felt pretty standard, so I'm a little worried that I won't see what I'm hoping for. I hope it doesn't turn into a deterioration of Othel... For now, it has a simple setup of searching for a younger sister and defeating a demon king, so I'm wondering how they're going to handle it from here. One Piece Is there anyone who will analyze this panel as the secret origin of Gaimon? Rocks being deprived of his free will and dying feels like a good character, so it's sad. Ichi Uroro is really good. I wonder if Ichi was able to hunt in the first episode because he was caught off guard and because he didn't have any subordinates with magic. Anyway, the fact that he suppressed everyone in an instant is honestly cool. He has a great expression the whole time, and the expression before the Thunder Fox Rush is the best. Also, well, I think most Jump readers thought (It's Sukuna...) at the point last week, but the Thunder Fox Rush was too much like Sukuna's domain in the Mahoraga fight, so didn't you think it was even more like Sukuna? I don't intend to say it's a rip-off, but honestly, although it was super cool, the coolness I feel at the fundamental level is not much different from what I was seriously feeling 5 years ago, so I'll attach the impressions from back then along with the comparison images. In addition to this, Ichi's good point is first of all his posture. The body line bent in a 'く' shape is cool. I was thinking the same thing about Kumiko's posture in the new visual of Eupho that was announced just yesterday, so I'm happy to see pictures with the same 'く' shape but different good qualities in quick succession. Also, it's good that it has even more style than Jujutsu Kaisen's rough rush. The rush is produced not only with written characters but also with printed characters, and the shape of the written characters is well-formed, so the impression is completely different from Jujutsu Kaisen. I was impressed when I saw Sukuna, but Ichi has completely different good qualities. It's cool enough to easily break my fetish. By the way, I felt a bit of a mismatch between Ichi and his Uroro form, but this time I thought that if the inside is also Uroro, then the outfit fits perfectly. Originally, I really liked the outfit itself, but it felt too flashy for Ichi's clothes, and I felt that while it had a lot of witch and king essence, if I were to represent Ichi with one attribute, it would still be a hunter, which is the cause of the mismatch. On the other hand, Uroro is the self-proclaimed king of all magic, so of course it suits him. Sam Wan It's good, isn't it? Ao no Hako Hina is shining. It's good, isn't it? Module It's good~ It's an alien, unknown ethnic problem, but I was able to read it with great interest. The process of Cross's personality being formed is carefully depicted, and it's not just explained or a past arc just to make you feel bad with a tragedy, which is wonderful. In the comments at the end of the volume, it was written that 'Heaven, be with you' is the origin of this project, so I definitely want to read it. It's a story about a person who dug wells all over Afghanistan. Just from looking at the synopsis, the order of Dula is very similar, so it seems like it's been influenced by it. I feel that Module has a clear intention to depict social problems, but as expected, I'm not familiar with the situation in the Middle East, so I can't say specifically what's going on, and if you think Module is interesting, then you should turn your attention to it through this. It's a problem with my reading pace, so I can't read it right away... Getting back to the story, if it ends this time, it's a common teaching like 'If you show your will and take action properly, everyone can understand each other, even though it's difficult', but while giving the example of Jab Aroma losing his daughter, it seems like it will properly depict the aspect that this friendly relationship will break down under the same conditions, and there's nothing you can do with pretty words, which is amazing. I'm too excited to see how they're going to settle it, keeping this in mind. In the last few episodes, I've really come to like Akutami's manga. Magical Training, I'm off! I was crying because Bachi was on hiatus, but the substitute was funny, lol. The flow of Misa falling into darkness was pretty good. They properly wrote the moment she unnecessarily encounters dark magic, and the fact that they don't use easy words like falling into darkness makes it feel seriously funny, which is to my liking. Sayuri's line 'You only train your body...' is also good with a lot of energy. Himeten I want to date a woman who looks like Ponoka too much. Tenichi, it's okay to tell her about your part-time job, but confess first. You'll have plenty of opportunities to say it after that. Akane The current location part was stylish and good. Even if it's not a great distance, there's a big difference between inside and outside the sea. Taking off her shoes and showing her current location is of course good, but it can also be taken to mean that Akane was in a place where she can't be as she is right now. Masaaki's overall review was also cool and it was a pleasant conclusion. Nue Please stop doing productions that I don't know how to take. Learn from Akane. The princess is great because she can properly give retorts. Gakuro is getting used to this vibe, so it might be the thing that was most lacking right now. The only regrettable thing is that she's not wearing sexy clothes. I'm quite satisfied with the density that makes the hunter parody without any particular reason seem irrelevant. Nige Waka The 'My wife!' part is funny because it seems properly pre-sexy. It ended with one shot and it felt light, but it had a sense of summary, which was good. According to the comments at the end of the volume, it will continue for a little longer, but I wonder if they'll do it until Tokiyuki's death. Ping Pong Honestly, it's funny, isn't it? The part about 'The earth is like a ping pong ball and it's beautiful...' doesn't really say anything that good in terms of the flow of the story, but it feels like it was made into a famous scene with momentum. Is it ending next week? I really liked it so I'm sad. Ekiden Bros I don't know if it's okay for someone who's writing a blog with impressions after it's over to say this, but I don't really have any impressions about this manga... It ended with 'I don't really like it'. I didn't dislike the first episode, but after that it was kind of fluffy. I have a vague feeling that sports manga in Jump are slow to start, so they're often told to have a match soon, but I think this is an anti-pattern of that. It's not that it's bad to have a match, but even if they have a match, if you don't understand the characters well, it's useless. I've been reading it vaguely, so I feel like I'm writing even more carelessly than usual. Postscript I went to the Kyoto Animation's World Exhibition. It was a super expensive event that cost about 17,500 yen in total for the stage and exhibition, but it was quite fun. It felt like an exhibition properly organized by an animation studio, which was good. The exhibition had things that showed the animation's production process, and even when displaying original drawings, they prepared multiple continuous scenes or had exhibits that allowed you to flip through and check the actual movement. The stage wasn't just calling voice actors and having them talk, but staff who don't usually come out on stage talked about the works, or talked about the process of changing the character designs before production, so it was a fulfilling content. The original drawings were mainly from recent series, and among the recent works, Eupho is the only series that I've been really into, but they know that Eupho is popular, so the related exhibits had solid content. Also, there were some original drawings of K-On! and CLANNAD, which made me very happy. The posters that were on display at the time of the broadcast were also quite good. I always feel happy to be an otaku at anime-related events, so it's worth going. That's all for this week, see you next week~80ENCommentslogin and startStartpost
