Jump Review [2025: Issue 42]

This is a story about horse racing where Moreira came to Japan. Jockey Moreira is so strong that if you see him riding a likely horse, you can basically bet on it and win. But the odds aren't that great, so I'm not really motivated to bet. Anyway, here are my thoughts on Jump.

Sam Wam Hertz

It was interesting! Kurage-chan is cute, and I personally like that the events that happen in each episode are small. The protagonist hasn't suddenly become interesting, but he's definitely achieving his goals, and he probably thinks, '1 and 0 are different.' Similar things happen in the comments sections of popular streamers these days, so it might be good that it's relatable and easy to imagine. But what's going to happen from now on? Considering the title and Kurage-chan's connection, he'll probably send various things to the radio's request corner, but it seems really difficult to make that interesting. Also, this really doesn't matter, but the way the heroines' back hair is drawn in both of the new series has a similar feel.

Ich

So this time, the enemy is the magic of resurrection? What I imagine from this string of words is something like bringing the dead back to life, but this time they used a counter-type technique. They have the status of a reverse-world enemy, so I'm looking forward to things involving them.

One Piece

Now that I think about it, Gunko has been around since this era and is still young... What is she? This episode felt like the characters were gathering, so it didn't feel like it progressed that much. But another unexpected thing was that Dragon rescued Shanks and his brothers. Thinking about it, their mother was eliminated by Garling, so was Shamrock not really a wanted child? Did his status rise because his marriage with Shakky fell through?

Modulo

Cross's name doesn't feel like Maru's at all, but it's ○ and ×. After explicitly stating that the level of sorcerers has decreased, the phrase 'special grade case since Sukuna' creates a sense of tension, as it implies that there are people of that class in terms of ability.

Ao no Hako

I wish I was born into a life where I had a hug every day. Also, please stop making Hina-chan wear poop glasses.

Nigewaka

Inochi Tsuru was weaker than I thought. If the big girl dedicates Takaouji as a single rider and it actually works out, she'll become a super accomplished big girl.

Bachi

The lord who just wants to fix his hair is really just doing what he wants. Why is even the person handing over the comb trying to look cool? Hakuri, who can flip the premise of the entire board, is moving around casually, which is crazy even though he's on our side. Hakuri hadn't awakened when the Shinuchi was put up for auction, so Bishaku might be in trouble if Hekili makes a move.

Akane

This episode raises expectations. There were panels that made me think, 'Don't waste it' or 'Spread,' and I think that's important.

Witch

It reminds me of 'Let's Fall in Love with Creatures!' There used to be a game like this where you could have a romance with a grasshopper-like monster.

Himaten

Your slightly older seniors, Daiki and Chinatsu, hug each other regularly, but what about you guys? The level of approach is almost like a confession. Maybe Ponoka is the only normal one anymore.

Nue

Glass of Persona is the manga that Hyouichi brought in chapter 91.

Looking at it this way, I've read quite a few of the early volumes. Is it the glasses that make the protagonist's appearance feel like a Nue version of Gakuro? Also, I laughed at 'Huge Love!!!!!!!' In Jujutsu Kaisen terms, she's like Tengen, a person who bears the core system of a highly personalized country, but when I read it, I just get the image of a person with big boobs and erotic clothes. I think she's very cute and good. Other than that, it's mostly this.

Ping Pong

Mutsuki was a gambler. As expected, the ending wasn't as impressive as when he destroyed his coat, but well, I'm glad it turned out well. Is this going to expand with stories about the association in the future?

I had a dessert wine drinking party. This time, it was ice wine and passito (I was curious about botrytized wine, but couldn't find any...). Both were delicious. As expected of dessert wine, both are sweet, but ice wine is easier to drink because the sweetness is more like fruit honey than juice (and the alcohol content was low). On the other hand, passito uses dried grapes, so it has a strong raisin-like smell and taste. I had vaguely thought of it as just sweet wine, but both had a sweetness that I had never tasted before, so I really enjoyed it. My junior had just returned from a trip to Germany, so they prepared (bought and made) a lot of European snacks, and making homemade pizza together and talking about recent Jump works was also good as a side dish. Furthermore, we drank one type each of white wine and orange wine, and also German beer. By the way, I also drank a glass of sparkling wine at a festival that happened to be going on that day. It was all about the alcohol. As for the white wine, I drank a wine made from Muscat grapes. It was around 3,000 yen and very delicious, but the introduction of the person who made it was interesting. The passito I drank was made from Moscato (which is Muscat), and the store where I bought this wine had an explanation of the maker, which said, 'Ezio, a man who thoroughly pursues the possibilities of Moscato.' I said that was a good introduction, and they recommended the dry wine of this person, which was the white wine I drank this time.
