Jump Review [2025: Issue 44]Yyabsing9/29/2025 I watched the Papal election. It's basically a work with the same theme as Chi. Also, my impression is that it's a modern work. Even in terms of presentation, there were many scenes that highlighted the mismatch between the church and modern society. Also, I felt that they thoroughly showed things visually before explaining them with words, so I didn't feel stressed while watching. It was interesting. I'm going to write my Jump review now. Table of Contents: One Piece, Ichinoseki, Himenten, Bachi, Ao no Hako, Mojuro, Nue's Exorcist, Samuwan, Love and Midnight Vampire, Akane-banashi, Harukaze Whistle, Nige Waka, Othello, Ping Pong, Postscript One Piece Up to this point, it's pretty much what you'd expect. I wonder how it will lead to a co-op between Garp and Roger... Rock's objective itself isn't something that readers would desperately want to stop, so it's a mystery. Teach is also still alive. Also, Dragon doesn't look like Luffy and Garp, so the theory that he's an adopted son has been around for a while, but this week he called Garp 'Dad,' so he seems like a biological child. Looking at Dragon recently, the fearlessness he had when he first appeared is nowhere to be seen, which is complicated (but that's not new). Ichinoseki Will it become a story about the coexistence of magic and people from the two perspectives of Jikishiro and Tokiso? It's the first time since the name came out that we've seen ancient magic battles, and the magic of Tokiso alone is good enough, but it feels like they've thrown an outlier at us from the start. Desukaras, even though it's conclusion-oriented, the way he grasps the enemy's abilities is clever and good. I can feel the experience. Himenten How is this different from a confession? No other woman can beat this, right? Bachi You didn't make the deadline for the manuscript, did you? Another Sojo bath chance? This time Azami is working the whole time. I didn't think the traitorous old man would be killed instantly, and next week it's a battle with Yu as it is. Come to think of it, last time he just executed him with overwhelming striking power, but going by this week's story, that wasn't a power-up magic, was it? I think I'm going to lose, but I'm looking forward to it... or so I said, but Yu is the one in trouble right now. In terms of fighting power, he's overwhelming right now, and he seems like he can somehow deal with Azami alone, but his personality seems like it will be taken over, and Chihiro and the others are also heading there, so he might retreat when the time is right. Kitakabuto is saying he has work to do, so he probably has some kind of plan prepared. Ao no Hako I laughed at the popular guy getting beaten up. It's because he's so engrossed in his girlfriend 😤 Poor Hina-chan is the most important thing today. Mojuro The interesting presentation that makes you mistake them as joining up was good. I was normally tricked. I was talking about protecting Maru, but he's in trouble right away. However, it might be fun to see Jujutsu Sorcerers doing their normal business, which I didn't see much in the main Jujutsu Kaisen story. The Kishi Raido arc was good. Nue's Exorcist What are you doing!!? I laughed. He's definitely conscious of Luffy, who has become a meme. The part where Gakuro talks about the story of how he stole the heroine's purity with the same expression as if he were talking about a comrade who was killed because of him was quite good, but the princess's clothes were too erotic, so that was all I could think about. You can't help but have your purity stolen. Samuwan Kurage-chan, in previous episodes, there were scenes that seemed conscious of Mimei, but this time she showed dere scenes without trying to hide it. It's common to express the passage of time by showing the screen changing without dialogue, but it was good that each cut was like a karaoke gag that could be used as a topic for a comedy show. It has a unique feel to this work. Love and Midnight Vampire I'm not the only one who thought that if the silver that the yankee is wearing is really silver, he should just sell it. I thought this guy's silver is something silver-colored... but if silver is bad, then ordinary silver-colored things might be scary. Even a model gun is scary if you suddenly have a gun pointed at you. Maybe you can even make them surrender with a banana in Metal Gear. There were quite a few elements, such as gags, battles, and romance, but because each one was an independent highlight, my final impression is vague. What should I mention when writing my review? It's not like it's not interesting, but... Akane-banashi The term 'Riken no Ken' (detachment) is a word I often hear in the context of metacognition, but I didn't know that Zeami was the originator. While Hikaru and Karashi were doing rakugo that had evolved for the modern age, it feels good to fight head-on with an approach that is typical of traditional performing arts. Unlike with Jugemu, this is clearly not playing around. Also, perhaps because they frequently used the technique of drawing the characters small and taking up a large amount of space outside the panels, I felt that the double-page spread and large panels in this issue were quite impressive. Cool. Harukaze Whistle I've been complaining about how subtle the defense is, but the way they depict the pitcher vs. the batter is really cool. 'It's okay to throw it away' is a good lesson as a summary of this time, but I think the idea of making the fact that no results were obtained an achievement is important in any situation. Recently, even in the research community, I was reminded of the story that if a dominant result is not obtained, it will not be considered an achievement, so there have been cases of distorting the results, and conversely, little value has been placed on experiments that simply retest experiments that have yielded results to confirm 'this experiment was indeed correct.' It seems that erroneous experiments are forming the basis for subsequent research without being verified, and I learned recently that various people will lose out if this kind of story is not better known, so it was kind of timely. Nige Waka He's doing a good job of being the final boss. It's sad that Lord Tokiuji Hino died, but I think a character with status has to die in order to create a sense of despair for the final boss, so I think he did a good job. The fact that he's starting to look relaxed also gives me a sense of danger. Othello It was super intense, but I laughed because Skadi was too big. Skadi seems to be the name of a giant from Norse mythology, but a giant... but I like wind-using archers because they're cool. Combination techniques are also hot. Both fiery swordsmen and wind archers are right in the middle of the road, so I think there are many examples, but somehow they remind me of Stan and Woodrow from Tales of Destiny. Ping Pong They react, but the passersby don't seem to be in the mood to comment on the obviously abnormal duo. I was imagining them becoming like the mobs in the Sakamoto Days world, but it was a little different. I never thought they'd do a cavalry battle. Also, his relationship with the coach is just normal and good. Postscript I bought a book. I found the National Museum of Ethnology Seminar that I wrote about in last week's postscript interesting, so I decided to buy related books and study. However, my body is completely poisoned by smartphones, so I couldn't concentrate on reading books at home, so I reluctantly shut myself in a cafe for about 4 hours to read. As a result, I only managed to read about 50 pages and am in despair. Even though I was eating and looking up unfamiliar words, this is terrible. Also, I actually went to the Ship and Humanity exhibition. In the seminar, I was impressed by the history of how humans crossed the sea, but the exhibition impressed me with the form of the ships and the things themselves. It was great that I couldn't understand canoes that didn't seem to have any space for people to get into in the hollow parts of the ship. Also, the resolution of the Oceania region of the National Museum of Ethnology's permanent exhibition has increased. Specifically, there is a large ship on display in the Oceania region, and I realized for the first time that it was a single outrigger canoe, the Chechemeni. I must have seen it at least 10 times, but I didn't notice that it said Chechemeni on the hull... I'll also post the photos I took, and that's it for this week.
