Jump Impressions [2025: Issue 46]

I briefly posted short videos on YouTube before and stopped, but I'm starting a new project to create YouTube videos, and I'm wondering if I should switch from blogging to video if that goes well. Well, that's still in the future, and besides, blogging doesn't require any editing work at all, and more importantly, it's harder to casually insert random updates on the assumption that people will just skip over them, so I'll probably keep blogging. But still, I don't want to write the same impressions twice, like (Hime's) secret to continuous effort is to do it sloppily, and I don't want to read Jump just to write impressions, so I'll think about it within the range I can do sloppily. I'll write my impressions.

Nige Waka

The opening color page is a vomit battle, I'm impressed. Doing something in cooperation with childhood friends, even on a big stage, might be more fun than nerve-wracking. It's not a passionate last battle, but a fun one.

Ichi

Ichi is cool for the first time in a while. After all, Ichi's good point is that he makes immediate decisions based on simple value judgments and doesn't hesitate after that.

One Piece

Rocks, Whitebeard, and Kaido all together are so cool, but Saturn has started using his powers, so is this finally the part where Rocks and the others lose? I wonder how Roger will cooperate with Garp from here.

Witch

Waiting-kun is over, which is good. The original reference is too beautiful, so it's reassuring to see greed.

Ao no Hako

After Waiting-kun being over, it's kind of funny when a real person shows up worrying about their parents with a very serious expression. He's probably going to lose to Kyo~

Akane

The pattern of the last panel is different from before, which is good. The scene of the venue erupting in a double-page spread was also powerful and good. Next week, she'll probably be praised and it'll be over.

Modulo

Shuttle run battle in a gymnasium where basketballs are flying around. Gege Akutami loves Sakamoto Days. Back in the days of "Juvenile and Reverse Punishment" when Sakamoto didn't exist yet, he didn't create such interesting school battle situations. It feels like he's learning the method and making it his own. In terms of the story, Makoto is just a good guy, which feels good. I understand why Cross couldn't help but help him. I'm aware that this is not the same person behaving with double standards, but to give an example, with the recent foreign issues, while anti-foreigner attitudes like "Expel the foreigners!" are being talked about, on the other hand, when you're asked for directions by foreign tourists or watch YouTube videos of pro-Japanese foreigners like the reactions of foreigners to anime, you feel favorable towards them because of their attitude of trying to approach you. Cross's contradictory words and actions feel like that kind of complex human emotion, which is good. However, in terms of the story, it will probably end with them both being good guys as they are. If no one wants war... the alien minister-like guy looked suspicious, so there might be something. Also, it's not good that a technique that seems like it could be used even in Gojo's era is coming out in this deflation battle.

Ura's Report

Numa Shun has already drawn a new work. Honestly, I can't say if I liked this one... or rather, with one-shots, "Oinari" and "Super Patrol" were too interesting, so it feels inferior to those. I feel like he was doing the story pretty seriously this time. Also, somehow "Super Patrol" is getting an anime adaptation. It started later than Bachi, but it's being decided earlier than Bachi, which is supposed to be popular, what's up with that? Well, I'm happy though.

Sam Wone

Well, it's something that happens sometimes. A small victory in the line. Even though it's only 5 chapters, it's really good just by putting gag ideas on the radio. Recently, pictures of Jellyfish-chan, called fan art, have been circulating a lot on X, so I feel like it's popular. Modulo is getting a color page next week, so let's pay attention to whether he can get one the week after next.

Bachi

Yu's final panel is too cool.

I'm going to be a fashionable pirate king. In terms of content, should it be "Will you become the god of the new world?" I think everyone has the desire that children at the time satisfied with Death Note, "If I had the power, I would condemn all the bad guys, even just a little, and make the world a better place." Is Yu a character who has come this far with that desire still intact only because he had the ability? Pure evil is good, but excessive justice is also good. Or rather, shouldn't Chihiro's enemy, whose principle of action is revenge, which is not something to be praised, be this kind of excessive justice?

Hima-chan

What a bad man, Tenichi. He's already almost in the Ponoka win-certain route, but he's playing with Himarin. This week, the sound of "From model to mode!" was also good, but the funniest thing was when Himari made an unknown sound.

If you only take out one panel, it's even more surreal. It's easy to overlook this kind of thing if you only read it once, so I reread it just to check the written characters.

Roboco

Nue

Captain Suga is always funny. Also, the otaku-oriented Six Styles-like technique called Go Ko Riku came out. The only difference between Zansou and Rankyaku is whether it's a flick or a kick. Also, Princess is always too sexy. Just a kiss has been given more weight to the point of OK for making babies lol.

Othel

Etopirica is being a heroine, which is good. When things settle down, Kuten will probably have mixed feelings inside.

Ping Pong

This is going to end... It's really painful, but I'm really happy that the last battle is likely to be in space. After all, this kind of manga that's just full of momentum in a good way should go to space.

Postscript

I watched "Hyakuemu". It was so interesting. I was able to see the coolness of people who can go crazy for a purpose, like in "Chi.". Like "Chi.", the fact that questions about going crazy are properly depicted in the work is also highly evaluated. Also, almost all the cuts were drawn with rotoscoping, but among them, the long take before the start was amazing. I felt the appeal of track and field in the fact that so many people spend so much time on just the moment before the start for a competition time of just 10 seconds, and I thought that the tension was a cut that knew the goodness of the competition well. Also, as an aside, after playing tennis for the first time in a month and a half, I was in muscle pain all over my body except for my legs, and the skin on the thumb of my right hand was destroyed, and I was in despair. Even while I was slacking off on tennis, I was walking around when I went out, but I reflected on the fact that I had to do something about other parts as well.
