Jump Impressions [2025: Issue 50]Yyabsing11/10/2025 I'm not even close to winning at horse racing, it's painful. I'll write my Jump impressions. Table of Contents: JK Hero & Reclusive Demon Lord, Modulo, One Piece, SamWone, Ichigonron, Akane, Nue, Blue Box, HimaTen, Roboco, Bachi, Run Away Young Master, Postscript JK Hero & Reclusive Demon Lord This is the one-shot that was published at the beginning of the year. I wonder if it got quite a bit of response since the serialization was decided at this speed? Personally, I'm getting tired of the demon lord/hero genre in the first place, and I feel like I preferred the one-shot version better. First of all, it was almost the same as the one-shot, but the composition was different. The previous one had scenes changing quite a bit, like going to school, coming home, going again, and then the aliens came, but this time it's more like home → school → straight into battle. If you say it nicely, it's simpler, but personally, I got bored because the home part was too long. I was thinking, "Nothing's happening~" or "It's a shonen manga, so if a man and woman are living together, shouldn't there be at least one lucky pervert scene?" Maybe it's bad that I'm a Heisei-era geezer. If you like that loose atmosphere, maybe it's better not to have unnecessary scene changes, and I feel like I'm just not the intended reader. Modulo Yuji Itadori search is for real? We even got a glimpse of Mahito, so maybe the wasteland of 100 years from now is coming now. But I like it. This time again, the upper echelons of the country are all competent and the content of the meeting is pleasant, but of course there are also people who want to rebel, so even though things are going well on the surface, we're shown that the inside isn't so good, which is why I felt a sense of tension even in the subsequent takopa scene. Because they're all sensible people, I get the feeling that once Fuwa goes down, it'll be impossible to fix, or rather, if there were a majority of bad guys, we could just kill them and be done with it, but I feel the fear because that's not the case. Also, I recently heard a story from a friend about a book called "Night and Fog" written by a psychologist who was interned in the Auschwitz concentration camp, and it seems that the word "attitude value" is introduced there. People in the concentration camp who could be killed at any time would naturally go crazy and lose their morals, and even after leaving the camp, they would take the attitude of "I've been through such terrible things, so I can do whatever I want," but those who place importance on attitude value (I'm not even sure if that expression is correct) are able to share bread with others even in that situation, and can behave in a normative way even after going outside. Don't you think that the content depicted in Modulo is quite applicable to this? Osuki has the idea that "We Lumel were ravaged by Deskunte, so we are allowed to do the same to unrelated others," while Jabbaroma, Maru, and Cross are able to take the attitude they should have, regardless of the tragedy they experienced. Also, Yuuka is fulfilling her duties as a Jujutsu Sorcerer even though she has only a few years left to live. If we simply say that they are good guys or bad guys, that's the end of it, but I was just speculating that since it was written with reference to "Heaven, Be With You," and it's also a war story, maybe they are placing the characters with reference to these kinds of stories. One Piece The conclusion was easily reached. I got a little excited when Marco's father appeared. Marco was Marco Polo. It's fun to see the origins of the legendary pirate crew. SamWone This story might be my favorite in SamWone so far. Running in the rain, getting soaking wet, that kind of youth doesn't really change anything, but it's definitely a good thing. That's conveyed to the two of Long Hopes (though it might only be in their own experience), and I feel an indescribable comfort in the fact that it's creating a change by making the free talk a little longer. It's like a moment when you can feel value in a place that doesn't have much meaning and share it (I've written a lot, but maybe it's just that it's good for your own actions to impress someone). Anyway, it was a good episode. Ichi Jixiroone is easy. Also, the story about wanting to have children was pretty good. The crazy alternative plan using the power of time manipulation was properly considered, and it was interesting because it was like a powers battle story. Gonron I've been wondering about this for a while, but aren't the character lines too thick and floating from the background? Recently, at the Kyoto Animation Exhibition, there was a story that in CITY the animation, the character lines were made much thicker because the background lines were thick, but that was a perfect match because they were experimenting with it. Even in Jump, Sakamoto and Jujutsu Kaisen in the pre-serialization period had thick lines, but I don't think I've ever felt that they were floating this much. Story-wise, it looks like a strong one is coming out, so I hope it gets interesting. Akane Akane is growing. The gap between Akane, who was expressing anger at the beginning of this series, and Akane, who is staring straight at her life this week, is moving. She probably has complex feelings, but it's cool how she doesn't lie when it comes to the story of her craft, which feels professional. Also, because I'm an otaku, I like Akane in the retro dress the most. Nue What should I even comment on? There's something on every page, so it's actually hard to write impressions. But my favorite this time might be Tsuyotsugu. Who reads the kanji "強" (strong) in their last name as "tsue"? And he's a jobber. For some reason, Marvelous Ojii is still showing up. What was good was the cheering battle. All the heroines are too cute. And, continuing from last week, Kuubou is too good of a character. It's commonplace in this manga for characters with strong quirks to suddenly appear, so I thought the Ojii who said "What... isn't that a gem...?" was just a mob character, but it's like they built a forest to hide a tree. That's how much they hid him. Blue Box Hina, you're shining. You should prepare more and steal him cunningly, but it's cute how you attack at a time when you're still definitely going to lose. HimaTen As a Hima-chu, I'm laughing because the painful developments continue here too. There's only Nue to heal me. The author said at the end of the volume, "My ideas are being rejected by the heroines every week," but is it possible that the characters have gone so wild that Himari has no chance of winning even though it's HimaTen? Roboco Did I really skip over it? That can't be... I was laughing because I was thinking that. Another weirdo has joined the 20-year-old generation... Bachi It's too interesting. First of all, the spread revealing the names of Souga Akira and Mura was too cool. I want to see him holding the true sword soon. And the part where he starts stretching was really good as an expression. The previous impression that had been imprinted with descriptions that didn't feel sane was destroyed in a casual panel. This panel is a lump of humanity. He clears his throat because it's been a while since he's made a sound, and he brings up a very standard topic about the weather (or rather, the temperature). And the relationship with Chihiro is mentioned nonchalantly. He's an uncle~ I knew it, because it's a work that's been talking about family all along, it's a lie that there aren't any blood-related family members on the enemy side. And the feelings of Azami, who was close to Kunishige, were also talked about, and there's another man who should have the same or even stronger feelings under another contractor... There are too many things to expect. I want to see the activities and passions of a man named Shiba, who is too strong and has been kept out of the loop lately. Run Away Young Master The persuasiveness is too different. Learn from Kojiro, who did something incredible that was properly befitting of a shonen manga. Was the line from the scene where he failed to kill him quoted from the Taiheiki? Postscript I didn't have anything to do on the weekend for the first time in a while (except for tennis), so I reread Nue's Exorcist partway, and then I did some video creation that I've been doing recently, and I also cooked. I was able to make caramelized nuts (it's easy, but I failed once because I didn't read the recipe), and it was a weekend where I made progress with sake. And, what did I drink? This is the whisky that was sold at the UK pavilion at the Expo for around 8800 yen. It was 3600 yen at Aeon (and it came with a glass). Actually, I knew that it was sold at Aeon, so when I saw it at the Expo, I thought, "That's expensive!" and remembered it, but this time the box looked exceptionally cool to me, so I bought it on impulse. The whisky I drank when I went to a bar for the first time was this one's black label, so I was drinking it while remembering that. I'm acting all stylish, but behind the scenes, I was wondering if it would be delicious to make rice cooked with the leftover broth from making braised pork, and when I tried it, the rice was still hard and I ended up with 2 go of soggy brown rice that tasted like a disaster, and I was in despair. I don't have anything to write about, so if I try to come up with a story, this is all that comes out, so I'll end it here. See you again next week~00ENCommentslogin and startStartpost
